Multiple Teams · Big Week for Cougar Athletics

It may be nearing the end of the regular season competition but MHSAA tournaments start this week for several sports. All have high hopes to move through districts and on to regionals!!

Boys Golf finishes the regular season today with the end of season league tournament hosted by Ionia High School and played at Centennial Acres in Lakewood. The team won all the league jamborees and with a good day today they can hopefully win the League Championship outright. Last week the boys took first in their MHSAA district match and will play in the Regional Competition in Saginaw on Thursday as they fight to move on to the State Finals!

Girls soccer opens up its MHSAA District on their home field vs Battle Creek Pennfield at 5:30 pm. The Cougars finished second in the CAAC White during the regular season and finished second in the Silver Division of the CAAC Cup last week. Lansing Catholic is hosting the district on its own field this week. If the Cougars can win today they will be back in action on Thursday at 5:30 with the final scheduled on Satureday at 2 pm.

Baseball and softball play at Springport today with both games beginning today at 5 pm. The girls finished their league season at 6-4, good for third place in the CAAC White. The boys finished at 7-3 and finished in second place in the CAAC White. Distict semi finals and finals will be at Leslie High School on Saturday the 30th starting at 10 am.

Boys and girls track run tonight at the Annual Honor Roll Meet starting at 5:30 at Holt High School. Those that have qualified for the State Meet will run Saturday at Comstock High School in the Grand Rapids area.

Tennis move on to the State Finals on Friday and Saturday this week. The main site for the girls will be at Holland High School with action beginning on both days at 9am.
