We are pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Dean Baker as the new varsity girls tennis coach.  Mr. Baker comes to us with a number of years of experience as an area high school tennis coach both as an assistant and head coach.  Several of the teams he’s coached (Williamston, Leslie, Lansing Christian, and DeWitt) have competed against LCHS and have also qualified for the state tournament several times.  Many of our players and parents will no doubt recognize him having seen him around the Lansing high school tennis scene.

Dean and his wife Betsy live in Mason and attend St. James where he serves on the finance committee and is a Knights of Columbus member. They have two adult children and five grand kids.  A Waverly and Ferris State grad, he has family members who are alumni of Lansing Catholic or its legacy and partner schools.  Mr. Baker recently retired after having worked for forty-four years in medical sales.  Last, but certainly not least, Mr. Baker is an avid tennis player and competes on Court One’s men’s travel team.
