Cougars Girl Varsity Soccer Has Back to BackWins

The girls varsity soccer team played their second home game Monday afternoon against Corunna. The team began the game with two back-to-back goals by Olivia Poupard with assists by Abigail Gilmore & Shannon Crilley. The first half ended with a 5-0 lead with goals by Riley McCann (assist Abigail Gilmore), Shannon Crilley & Abigail Gilmore. The team came out just as strong the second half with goals scored by Abigail (assist Katie Burns), Shannon and Kyra Wieber (assist Keighen Morley). The final score was Cougars 8 Cavaliers -0-.

The team played their first conference game in Portland Wednesday afternoon in blizzard like conditions. Similar to the Corunna game the team had a 5-0 lead at the half with goals by Kyra Wieber (assist Olivia Poupard), Clarie Smalley (assist Keighen Morley), Shannon Crilley, Claire Smalley, and Jessie Plaehn (assist Claire Smalley). During the second half Claire’s third goal, assisted by Katie Burns, earned her a hat trick! Other goals the second half were made by Kyra (assist Olivia) and Shannon (assist Olivia). The final score was Cougars 8 Raiders -0-.

The Cougars play the Waverly Warriors at home on Saturday, April 25 at noon. Keep up the great work!
